It is well-known across the Muslim world that Muslim scientists have contributed greatly to building modern scientific advancements. The time has come to claim back our share. Today, technology has become an integral part of our lives and has significantly impacted the way we access information and knowledge. As Muslims, technology can be a valuable tool to assist us in gaining a greater appreciation and comprehension of the Qur’an. Let me explain:

One way technology can be used to assist in understanding the Qur’an is through mobile apps. There are many mobile apps available that provide translations of the Qur’an in different languages, including Arabic, English, Bangla, Urdu and more. These apps can be a great resource for those who are not fluent in Arabic, the original language of the Qur’an.

In addition to translations, some apps also provide audio recitations of the Qur’an by renowned reciters, which can be helpful in understanding the correct pronunciation and rhythm of the verses. Some apps even offer translations and tafsir (interpretations) of each verse, providing context and a deeper understanding of the meaning.

Another way technology can be used to assist in understanding the Qur’an is through online resources. There are many websites available that offer in-depth analyses of the Qur’an, including tafsir, translations, and commentaries by renowned scholars. These resources can be accessed from anywhere with an internet connection, making it easy to study the Qur’an even when we are on-the-go.

More so technology can be used to assist in memorising the Qur’an. There are many mobile apps available that offer gamified approaches to memorising the Qur’an, making the process more engaging and interactive. These apps use techniques like spaced repetition and gamification to help users memorise the Qur’an more efficiently.

Frankly speaking, technology can be a valuable tool for Muslims to assist in gaining a greater appreciation and comprehension of the Qur’an. From mobile apps to online resources to social media communities, technology provides us with access to knowledge and resources that were previously unavailable. Taking advantage of these tools, we can deepen our understanding of the Qur’an and strengthen our connection with Allah SWT.
