BPKP hosts landmark meeting to address key NRB concerns.
On Tuesday 24th June, the Bangladesh Probashi Kallyan Parishad (BPKP) convened a significant cross-organisational meeting at the Royal Regency in Ilford. The event brought together more than 100 representatives from over 60 community organisations, pressure groups, and businesses to discuss four major issues currently affecting Non-Resident Bangladeshis (NRBs):
1. Fast-track tribunal proceedings
2.Voting rights for NRBs
3. Biman Airlines ticket price hikes
4. Sylhet Airport’s operational challenges and international status
The meeting fostered active discussion and collaboration, with many respected community figures offering valuable suggestions and recommendations. These insights will be presented to the current caretaker administration in Bangladesh and, in due course, to the incoming government following the upcoming general election.
BPKP remains committed to advocating for the rights and concerns of NRBs. As a nonpartisan, non-political pressure and advocacy group, BPKP serves as a unified voice for the Bangladeshi diaspora across the UK and Europe. For more information, please visit: www.BPKP.org
