Hedgecock Community Centre’s annual Fun Day a resounding success

Published: 16 July 2025

The Hedgecock Community Centre’s annual Fun Day, held earlier today, was another fantastic success, drawing in over 500 visitors despite the scorching heat and blazing sunshine.

The event brought together young families and children from across Longbridge Ward and neighbouring communities, creating a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere for all.

A wide range of activities kept attendees entertained throughout the day from bouncy castles, face painting, and henna art, to a delicious BBQ, homemade chutneys, and arts and crafts stalls run by talented young entrepreneurs.

There was also a strong charity presence, with stalls from BRT UK, Darul Ihsan, and even a local family selling toys and handmade crafts to raise funds for Gaza.

In addition to the families and children who flocked to enjoy the day, the event also drew support from local organisations including BCF, BDMA, and UMA, as well as local ward councillor Cllr Faruk Chowdhury, highlighting the strength of community spirit.

Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and as a result, Hedgecock Community Centre is now exploring the idea of hosting a larger Summer Festival in Mayesbrook Park, in collaboration with local groups and supporters.
