Men’s & Women’s Teams take top podium spots in historic community triumph

On Saturday 6th July, Fairlop Waters, East London, the waves belonged to Shadwell as both the Men’s and Women’s Teams of Shadwell Dragons surged to double gold at the Al-Noor Boat Race 2025, cementing their place as undisputed champions with the fastest times of the entire event.

In a competition featuring over 60 teams and raising a record-breaking £400,000 for charitable causes, the day was more than just a race, it was a celebration of unity, resilience, and grassroots excellence.

Men’s Team storm to victory with the fastest time of the day!

The Shadwell Dragons Men’s Team put on a spectacular display of speed, power, and precision delivering the fastest overall time of the event at 00:51:24.

With each round, the team grew stronger, peaking in the final race with a performance described by onlookers as a “masterclass in cohesion and determination.”

“Every stroke was powered by brotherhood, belief, and the will to represent our community,” said one senior rower.

“We knew we had to leave it all on the water, and we did.”

  • Silver: Chadwell Heath Dragons – 00:53:61
  • Bronze: MSN Brothers – 00:57:08

Shadwell Sisters Seize Gold with flawless precision

Not to be outdone, the Shadwell Dragons Sisters brought heart, hustle, and flawless execution to the water, finishing with a winning time of 00:01:07:14, the fastest among all women’s teams.

Their synergy and spirit were on full display as they powered through the final stretch in a show of unbreakable sisterhood.

“We rowed with heart, spirit, and the strength of every sister who came before us,” shared one team member.

“This is a win not just for us, but for the whole community that stands behind us.”

  • Bronze: MSN Sisters – 00:01:08:94
