On Sunday, 7th September 2025, at Tara Taree Restaurant, Whitechapel, the Bangladesh Regeneration Trust UK (BRTUK) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and elections for the 2025–2027 session.
The AGM was hosted by Nazir Ali, Secretary of BRTUK, and opened with a Qur’an recitation by Koyes Ahmad of East London Mosque (ELM). This was followed by a warm welcome and opening remarks from Ibrahim Ali, Chair of BRTUK, who presented the finances and AGM report for the previous term.

Impact in 2024–25
Alhamdulillah, in the last year, BRTUK invested £125,000 in Bangladesh across key areas:
- Education, health, and livelihoods

- Emergency relief for disaster and flood victims
BRTUK also organised its flagship Heritage Tour of Bangladesh, taking 10–15 participants on a journey that combined charity work with cultural exploration. Attendees visited ongoing projects, inaugurated new initiatives, and enjoyed sightseeing, food, and activities across the country; from Tetulia to Teknaf, including Cox’s Bazar, Rajshahi, Barisal, and St. Martin’s Island.

The AGM then proceeded to the elections of 5 new trustees. The current office bearers; Ibrahim Ali (Chair), Nazir Ali (Secretary), and Mostafa Hussain (Treasurer) stood for re-election, along with Executive Committee member Abdul Mumin Yahya and others from the membership.
The election process was explained by Mostafa Hussain, after which the responsibilities were handed to the Election Commissioners, Koyes Ahmad (ELM) and Ashid Ali (Principal, London Enterprise Academy).
The following members were duly elected as trustees:
- Ibrahim Ali
- Nazir Ali
