Formation of Deokalas Union Welfare Trust UK

On Tuesday, 30th September 2025, at Maedah Grill, London, the Deokalas Union Welfare Trust UK was officially established; marking a significant milestone towards fostering unity, development, and social progress for the people of Deokalas Union, Bishwanath, Sylhet, Bangladesh, both at home and abroad.

This journey began on 4th June 2025, with the creation of a WhatsApp group that quickly grew to 275 members in just three months; a powerful reflection of the community’s enthusiasm, commitment, and desire to work together for positive change.
During the historic meeting on 30th September 2025, more than 150 expatriates from Deokalas Union came together and unanimously agreed to formalise the Trust.

The Deokalas Union Welfare Trust UK will serve as an inclusive platform built upon four key principles:
- Unity: Bringing everyone together for the development of the Union.
- Community: Establishing a strong organisation for expatriates.
- Brotherhood: Upholding cooperation, respect, and solidarity.
- Service: Actively contributing to social and humanitarian causes.
More than just an organisation, the Deokalas Union Welfare Trust is a pledge; a collective commitment to transforming shared aspirations into meaningful progress for our beloved birthplace, Insha’Allah.
Under the guidance of Professor Nurul Islam, a temporary working committee has been formed to lead the Trust through its first 12 months, focusing on expanding membership, formal registration, and establishing bank operations.
Together, we take the first steps toward a stronger, united, and empowered Deokalas community.
