In a historic turn of events, Major General Salahuddin Miazi, a revered figure amongst his comrades, coursemates, and the nation, has emerged triumphant in the Bangladesh General Election 2024 from Jhenaidah – 3 constituency (Court Chandpur and Mohespur Upazilas), Khulna Division , securing a coveted seat in the Parliament. This momentous victory not only marks a personal triumph for Major General Miazi but also symbolises a continuation of a legacy deeply rooted in the sacrifices and valour of his family during the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971.

The newly elected Member of Parliament traces his lineage to a man of great significance in the annals of Bangladesh’s history—his father, a victim of the heinous atrocities committed by the occupying Pakistani army during the liberation struggle. This illustrious father, who served as an MP in 1971 and 1973, played a crucial role in the fight for independence but unfortunately fell victim to the ruthless enemy. Major General Miazi now stands as a beacon, following in his father’s footsteps, driven by an unwavering commitment to serve the nation.

Salahuddin’s journey in the military has been remarkable, showcasing a track record that speaks volumes about his character and dedication to duty.
