On 30th December, the Bangladesh Probashi Kallyan Parishad (BPKP) proudly celebrated the second internationally recognised NRB (Non-Resident Bangladeshi) Day at the Royal Regency in Manor Park.

The event was a resounding success, with more than 500 attendees, including NRBs, supporters, and distinguished guests. It featured inspiring speeches from influential dignitaries, elected representatives, and the Board of Trustees, who highlighted BPKP’s achievements and future vision. The celebration reaffirmed the organisation’s dedication to supporting the Bangladeshi diaspora and fostering deeper connections with Bangladesh.

A major highlight of the evening was the presentation of lifetime achievement awards to three outstanding community figures: Ahmad Us Samad Chowdhury JP, Cllr Usman Goni, and the late Khandakar Farid Uddin. Their remarkable contributions to the Bangladeshi community, both in the UK and Bangladesh, were celebrated with immense gratitude and heartfelt recognition.

The event also showcased captivating cultural performances by renowned artists, adding vibrancy to the evening and reflecting the richness of Bangladeshi heritage.

As a platform for unity and pride, NRB Day emphasised the critical role of the diaspora in contributing to Bangladesh’s economy and global image. BPKP’s appeal to stakeholders, including the interim government, to address the challenges faced by NRBs underscored the importance of supporting this vital community.

Once again, NRB Day proved to be a celebration of shared achievements, unity, and the enduring bond between the diaspora and their homeland. Together, the NRB community stands strong, driving positive change and fostering growth for future generations.
