On 4th February, at Royal Bengal Restaurant, Whitechapel, Bangladesh Probashi Kallyan Parishad (BPKP) officially announced the upcoming Biennial General Meeting (BGM) and Electionto all its members.

The meeting commenced with a Qur’an recitation by Moulana Anisur Rahman.

Jahangir Khan, the current chair, emphasised that BPKP is a non-political organisation dedicated to serving the needs of NRBs (Non-Resident Bangladeshis) and expatriate Bangladeshis. He highlighted the considerable progress made during his tenure but acknowledged that more could be done for NRBs.

General Secretary, Syed Ahbab Hussain, presented the current constitution, outlined the election process, and announced the selection of election commissioners. The proposed election date is Tuesday, 29th April, with the venue provisionally booked.
